The Hot Springs Spas T20 Christchurch Black Clash in association with Swisse, has officially been declared a sell out, with close to 9,000 people packing into Hagley Oval to witness Kieran Read’s Team Rugby to take on Stephen Fleming’s Team Cricket in a star-studded T20 cricket match.
Duco Events director David Higgins said he was delighted with the bumper attendance on a glorious Christchurch summer’s day.
“Kiwis have really got behind this unique event,” Higgins said.
“The people of Canterbury have clearly fully supported it by coming along today in fantastic numbers. But it has also been hugely popular across the country, with over a third of tickets going to be people from outside of Canterbury.
“That’s great news that I’m sure will be welcomed by our host city partners ChristchurchNZ, Christchurch Airport and all of our fantastic sponsors.”
The match was also broadcast live and free-to-air on TVNZ.
